United Hatzalah, Magen David Adom and Fire and Rescue Department first responders evacuated and treated 24 people for light injuries and smoke inhalation as well as one woman who was moderately injured, following a fire that broke out on Mevo Hasharvit Street in Ashdod on Thursday evening. The Fire and Rescue crews battled the blaze while simultaneously evacuating those trapped inside the building.
According to reports by United Hatzalah volunteers at the scene, at least ten of the injured were children and infants. Magen David Adom transported numerous people Assuta Medical Center in Ashdod for further care and observation.
United Hatzalah’s Psychotrauma and Crisis Response Unit also responded to the incident and treated numerous people for psychological and emotional shock and distress.
