Minister of Agriculture Uri Ariel, Director-General of the Council of Plants Tzvi Alon, Secretary-General of the Moshavim Movement and Chairman of the Israel Farmers’ Association, Meir Tzur, and the Israeli farmers serving in the reserves distributed Mishloach Manos to the office of Defense Minister Avigdor Lieberman.
Ministers Ariel and Lieberman encouraged the public to include in each shipment fresh fruit dishes made of blue and white: “It is also healthy and strengthens the farmers” he explained.
Ariel distributed, along with reservists and their children, to the office of Defense Minister Avigdor Lieberman, Mishloach Manos including fresh fruits, all of course grown in Eretz Yisrael.
Minister Ariel said “On Purim, we distribute healthy food packages with tasty fresh fruit, and the farmers are working day and night to grow and cultivate varieties of fresh fruits and in every mishloach manos that combine Israeli agricultural produce that is healthy and also strengthens the farmers.”
DM Lieberman said “Agricultural settlement is an important element in the strength of the State of Israel, and I join the Minister of Agriculture’s call to add fruit to every mishloach manos, which is good for farmers and good for health”.
