Histadrut National Labor Federation Chairman Avi Nissankoren addressed Prime Minister Binyamin Netanyahu and Transport Minister Yisrael Katz in a letter calling on them to stop unfair competition and discrimination against Israeli airlines as opposed to foreign airlines.
Nissankoren’s call comes after it became known that the government intends to allow the Indian company AIR INDIA to fly to and from Israel over Saudi Arabia – a route significantly shorter than that of Israeli companies.
In the letter, the chairman of the Histadrut wrote, among other things, that “it is unthinkable that the government will lend a hand to conduct that would seriously harm Israeli companies and their devoted employees.”
