After he was questioned last week for a seventh time by investigators of the Israel Police Lahav 433 Unit, it appears all but certain police are going to recommend the Attorney General move ahead with a criminal indictment against Interior Minister Aryeh Deri.
According to veteran news correspondent Moshe Nussbaum, police are wrapping up the case and will be recommending to indictment the Shas party leader.
It is also reported that Lahav investigators and investigators at the Tax Authority are basing at least some of the suspicions raised against the Shas chairman – mainly the economic transfers investigated against him, but not only them.
“If this trend continues, it will lead to a recommendation to file an indictment against the interior minister,” the report said.

If this is what it takes to get Eli Yishai [a decent gentleman] back in Knesset where he belongs, then so be it.
Hopefully this time they will lock him away for good.. The Sephardeshe tzibur in EY deserves better than this convicted felon and poliical hack. There are so many incredibly smart, talented and honest sephardic leaders in EY, its not clear why the Yosefs and other Shaas leaders continued to support this guy. Time for change and a new generation of leaders to step forward. Same for the other side where Israelis deserve better than Netanyahu and the other Likud political hacks who have enriched themselves and their friends at th public’s expense.
didnt he learn his lesson the first time he went to jail? wasnt it euphoric when he won enough seats to get back on top of shas and yachad didnt even win one? it was almost a victory a tremendous win with all the highs that comew ith such a trump like win and now he completely blew it. arab mentality they dont get it no matter how many times and thats why we cant ever make peace with people who have this middle eastern mentality.

Deri should have learned his lesson the last time. In the zionist state, it is a felony to be an uppity frum Sefardi. Why would he think anything has changed?
