Health Ministry: Kinneret Fish Have Been Poisoned

fish.jpgThe Israeli Health and Agriculture Ministries have warned the public not to purchase fish originating from the Tiberias marine, or unknown sources, after tens of thousands of dead fish were discovered in the Kinneret.

According to Haartez, Government inspectors who arrived on the scene say the fish were deliberately poisoned. Fish in the Kinneret have been poisoned a number of times in recent years.

All fishing in the Kinneret has in the meantime been prohibited, and Health Ministry inspectors have been stationed in the area to enforce the ban. Additionally, no poisoned fish seems to have reached the market.

The ministry has sent dead fish to the lab for testing to determine how the fish were poisoned.

  1. How can you be so sure it was the arabs? they have no access to any part of the Kinneret and it could’ve just been some crazy person, G-D forbid, who wanted to murder fish. It is wrong to assume everything that goes wrong is the arabs fault.

  2. What do you mean, Arabs have no access to any part of the Kinneret? Who do you think makes up a majority of the Galil’s population?

  3. There is no Inyan to be Dan Lkaf Zechus the arabs. I happen to know it was the arabs, because when I was vacationing in Tveria recently, I saw some arabs putting some funny stuff into the water. When I asked them what it was, they told me they were just doing Tashlich.

  4. it might be wrong to automatically blame everything on the arabs, however they have certainly been rotten enough to earn our mistrust and become suspect whenever an issue arises. nobody would ever assume it might be some american, y not?! IS IT POSSIBLE THAT PEOPLE WHO EARN A LABEL GET SUSPECTED

  5. Maybe we could get the fish to talk, like they did in New Square 7-8 years ago. Then we’ll have the whole story without any doubts.
