Jews took to the streets in painful protest on Monday afternoon, 20 Shevat, following the fatal stabbing attack near Ariel in Shomron, which claimed the life of Rabbi Itamar Ben-Gal HY”D, 29, from Har Bracha.
Authorities report there were several protests following the fatal attack, and Honenu reports an adult and a minor were taken into police custody during the protests. The two were released and distanced from the Shomron for a period of five days.
IDF Central District Commander Major-General Roni Numa arrived at the scene of the attack, and he was booed by protesters.
At the end of the day’s protests, a total of eight persons were taken into custody by police. Some of the suspects were scheduled to be arraigned on Tuesday.
A large protest began at 9:00PM at the intersection of IDF Base Bahad 3, where may blocked the entrance to PA (Palestinian Authority) occupied Shechem.
