Machane Tzioni party chairman, Avi Gabbai, on Thursday, 9 Shevat, addressed the latest election poll, showing he cannot succeed. He explained that just like he was told he cannot win the party’s leadership race, and did, he is confident here too. He also predicts that his former party, Kulanu, will fail to pass the minimal threshold and as a result, it will be excluded from the next Knesset.
Speaking to Galei Tzahal (Army Radio), Gabbai said, “We want to win the next election. You are interpreting my political future to look completely different”.
“As for Kahlon, we have in-depth surveys that show that he does not even pass the threshold, and now the difference is seven Knesset seats, which are very crisp,” he said.
“What’s important is the last three months, when people put the ballot in the ballot box”.
In addition, former CEO of Bezeq did not rule out the possibility of a joining with Yisrael Beitenu in a future coalition, even though he recently attacked Lieberman more than once. “He is the last who I will sit with, but I’m not saying we will not sit with him. You talk about Israel’s political map, it will not look the way it does today. I want to permit myself the freedom to conduct coalition negotiations.”
“The chareidim are not willing to sit with Yair Lapid, so whoever chooses me will receive another prime minister, and whoever chooses Lapid will receive a coalition of Netanyahu,” he said, explaining Lapid simply will never be able to build a coalition.
“I will win the next elections, write it, and as I won in the primaries that no one saw, the same thing will happen in the elections,” promised Gabbai.
