Poll Shows Netanyahu Still Most Capable PM But Yesh Atid Would Win the Election If It Were Held Today


A recent poll conducted by “Panels Politics” and published by the Walla News site asked: “If elections were held today, whom would you vote for?” According to the response of an evenly split segment of society the Yesh Atid party run by Yair Lapid would wi the election with 25 seats. This would be one seat higher than the Likud run by Binyamin Netanyahu. The poll added that United Torah Judaism would receive 8 seats while Shas would be left straddling the entry threshold with just four seats.

The Zionist Union would plummet to just 15 seats according to the poll, becming the third largest party in the Knesset. This result for the Zionist Union party reflects the same downturn in popularity as reflected by similar polls conducted by other organizations recently. the Jewish Home party would gain considerably and top of at 13 seats, while the Arab Joint List would drop to 11 and Kulanu would drop to 8. Meretz would gain ground and reach 7 mandates and Yisrael Beiteinu would remain at their current 5.

Regarding the question of who is the most appropriate person to be the Prime Minister, Netanyahu still leads by a vast majority of voters. With 33 percent of responders saying that he is the most capable. Lapid ranked in at 18 percent Avi Gabbai came in at 11 percent and Naftali Bennet ranked in at 7 percent. Lieberman and Kahlon both ranked at 3 percent.
