Tel Aviv: Suspect In Jail For Using Bogus Credit Card To Rack Up Purchases


An Israel Police spokesman from the Tel Aviv district reports police arrested a suspect, a released prisoner, for making purchases with forged credit cards in the amount of NIS 100,000.

The suspect, 47, from Ashdod, was arrested on Tuesday, 25 Teves after being caught in a supermarket chain when he made a purchase with a suspicious credit card. A number of forged credit cards were found in his possession. He used a forged identity card when identifying himself to police.

In the course of the investigation, the suspicion arose that the suspect, has been incarcerated in the past, recently made dozens of purchases of various products totaling NIS 100,000. On Friday, the police extended the remand of the suspect until Monday, with the intention of filing an indictment against him.
