Baruch Dayan HaEmmes: In Yerushalayim, HaGaon HaRav Yehoshua Maimon ZATZAL, rav of the Moroccan tzibur, was niftar on Shabbos at the age of 100. The levaya was set to begin on Sunday at 1:00PM at Yeshivat Porat Yosef in the Geula neighborhood of Jerusalem.

The rav’s medical condition began deteriorating a number of months ago and he was compelled to interrupt his seder limud. Last week, he was admitted to Shaare Zedek Hospital with difficulty breathing.

The rav was born in Morocco to Rav Refael Maimon, ben Rav Rachamim Yosef. He began serving as an Av Beis Din at the age of 28. He became rav of Nahariya upon his arrival in Israel and moved there in 1978. He later served in Beersheva and then as member of the High Appeals Court.
