Court Extends Remand of Bnos Yerushalayim Suspects

The Jerusalem Magistrate’s Court on Tuesday extended the remand of the Bnos Yerushalayim suspects for six days to permit police to continue the investigation without interference. The suspects are accused of embezzling tens of millions of NIS from state ministries by operating a fictitious school and submitting student names and identification numbers, collecting on the state budgets.

The court learned the suspects appear to have run other NGOs in the same fashion, and police informed the court that the address given for the yeshiva they were running is a parking lot, not a building with hundreds of students as the paperwork submitted to the Ministry of Education states.

  1. Since YWN has already written an article that the actual organization these people created was known as “Bnos Yerushalayim – Keren Moshe”, which made use of the fact that the real Bnos Yerushalayim is an upstanding organization that refuses to take money from the Israeli government, while at the same time being a different organization for them to receive their corrupt funds – I think it is irresponsible to continue using only the name “Bnos Yerushalayim” without “Keren Moshe” in such an article, as if to say that the true mosdos of Bnos Yerushalayim had anything to do with this investigation. It should be edited immediately.
