Despite a formidable battle from the opposition benches, MK Yaakov Litzman is once again at the helm of the Health Ministry, now to serve as the deputy minister with ministerial authority. The vote was taken in Knesset on Wednesday, 24 Teves, passing in a 62 to 38 vote. The vote followed cabinet approval, giving him the authority to run the ministry despite being only a deputy minister.

Litzman was serving as Minister of Health, but resigned not too long ago, protesting the weekly Chilul Shabbos by Israel Railways. So now that he is back, nothing has really changed other than the fact serving as a deputy minister gives Litzman and Agudas Yisrael the ability to say they are not responsible for the Chilul Shabbos.
