Sderot Residents Protest In Yerushalayim

sderot victim.jpgDozens of Sderot residents clashed with police today as they tried to break into PM Olmert’s offices in Yerushalayim. The group arrived earlier Sunday and lied down at the entrance to the capital – blocking traffic. They were soon joined by dozens of people showing solidarity with their brothers and sisters who are being terrified daily – by the constant barrage of Kassam Rockets. The total number of protesters numbered close to 300.

According to Ynet, the residents also brought along pieces of Kassam rockets in order to present them outside the Prime Minister’s Office. They threw the rockets on the road and shouted, “Color Red” (the Kassam alert system).

Additionally, Sderot Mayor Eli Moyal told reporters that he was waiting for a permit to build a protest tent outside the Prime Minister’s Office. “I plan to move there and be with Sderot’s residents who are demonstrating,” he said.

The residents demanded that someone from the PM office come outside to talk to them – but no one did – leaving the residents with the same felling of hopelessness as when they arrived.
