As party chairman Aryeh Deri continues to refuse to place former leader Eli Yishai anywhere on the list for the next elections, a member of the Shas party’s Moetzas Chachmei Hatorah met with Yishai in secret. Yishai is willing to team up with Shas but unwilling to abandon his new party, Yachad.
According to the Yisrael Hayom report, the meeting took place two weeks ago between Yishai and the council member. The meeting was held at Yeshivat Kisei Rachamim, headed by HaGaon HaRav Meir Mazuz Shlita, the spiritual leader of Yishai’s Yachad party. According to the report, at the time of the meeting, there were no employees or students present. It was decided that another meeting will take place with the same individual, who met privately for a time with Rav Mazuz.
While Yishai is willing to run as a united party to ensure they both receive the minimum four seats to enter Knesset, he wishes to maintain his autonomy from Shas and he will be beholden to Rav Mazuz, not the Shas Torah Council. This formula was raised in the past and rejected outright by Deri.
Kikar Shabbos News adds that HaGaon HaRav Reuven Elbaz Shlita, a member of the Shas Council, met with Rav Mazuz in the yeshiva about a month ago. The meeting was cordial, and each asked the other for a bracha for continued success.

U can’t take news out of Israeli sites & just publish them without actually verifying. There are a lot of politics and personal interests going on among different factions and news sites that you’re obviously not aware of and not familiar with….
