United Hatzalah Emergency Medical Service (EMS) volunteers treated 211 people over the weekend for storm related injuries and illnesses across Israel.
The medical emergencies consisted of various injuries due to slipping and falling on the mud, rain or roadways, various motor vehicle accidents caused by slippery roads, hypothermia, respiratory difficuties, injuries due to falling trees, large items that fell off of buildings and landed on people due to the strong winds, and requests for humanitarian aid.
President and Founder of United Hatzalah Eli Beer said: “All of our volunteers from across the country have been instructed to remain on high alert and pay an attentive ear for emergency calls that happen in their area in order to provide the fastest response possible to anyone who needs our help.
