Angry residents in Sderot took to the streets tonight, setting tires on fire, and calling for PM Olmert to resign – for failing to provide adequate protection to them.
More than 3 dozen rockets have landed in Sderot since Thursday. On Shabbos afternoon, 6 rockets landed in the city – badly wounding two brothers [ages 8, 19]. The 8 year-old boy’s legs were R”L partially severed when a rocket slammed down near his home.
The IDF has responded with multiple air-strikes in Gaza on Motzei Shabbos. Although the exact number of casualties has not been confirmed as of this time – at least one senior Hamas terrorist has been killed.
Public Security Minister Avi Dichter will reportedly ask the cabinet during Sunday’s weekly meeting to give the army the green light to step up measures designed to put a stop to the rocket attacks from Gaza.
Dichter, who visited Sderot tonight will brief the ministers on his tour. Local residents told Dichter “that they felt abandoned by the government.”
“I found a battered town where some 20 percent of residents have simply got up and left,” Dichter said.
The public security minister said Sderot residents told him they were living from one miracle to the next and felt there was no end in sight.

I suggest that Sederot resides withhold all taxes to the federal gov until they provide protection. How these politicians sleep at night knowing they leave their citizens in harms way is beyond me. Shame on them.

Very unfortunately, the person who said that he feels like the govt. is abandoning him is wrong. At least until now. The govmt. IS, OR HOPEFULLY WAS, ABANDONING HIM.
When will all this stop? It is getting worse and worse!
Obviously the dirty pig terrorists think that bombs are terrorizing. Let them get hit with bombs for a long time, not just the typical two jet fighter attacks. They should be bombed from moving trucks that never stay in one place. That is the way the enemy was so effective in the recent Lebanon fiasco. Bomb them for five hours straight from many locations. Aim most of those bombs at the places from which the bloodthirsting pigs launched theirs even if they are no longer there. We must not freeze our emotions and take it. The Christians say, “Turn the other cheek,” but we are not Christians. Dear Hashem please help that boy and his family and community!
