Fourth Rocket Fired From Gaza Lands In Israel – No Alert Siren Sounds

For the fourth time on Wednesday, a rocket has been fired from Gaza and landed in Israeli territory. The exact location of the landing site has yet to be pinpointed. The increased volume of rocket fire over the past 24 hours has given cause for residents to worry about the sudden escalation of rocket attacks. What makes matters worse is that the Red Alert sirens did not operate during any of these attacks.

Two of the previous rocket attacks saw the mortars fired at Israel, land in open spaces in the territory of the Eshkol Municipal Council. An IDF spokesperson said: “IDF units are working to locate the landing site of the most recent rocket, after we saw that a short time ago the rocket was fired from Gaza and landed in Israel.”

The IDF has investigated the recent escalation in rocket attacks and has come to the conclusion that the Islamic Jihad terrorist group is behind the attacks. Three mortar shells, all of which were manufactured in Iran were fired at Israel during a birthday party that was being held on a base in close proximity to the Gaza strip for First Sergeant Oron Shaul last week. In response, the IDF attacked numerous strategic military sites belonging to Hamas, as it has been Israel’s policy to hold Hamas accountable for everything that is taking place inside the strip.

The IDF has noticed that Hamas cannot seem to control the Islamic Jihad faction in the strip and is weighing options to take action against the terrorist organization’s infrastructure and leadership.
