(VIDEO IN EXTENDED ARTICLE)

After weeks of blocking roadways in cities around Israel, Prime Minister Binyamin Netanyahu is promising Israel’s disabled community a significant aid package in 2018, amounting to an increase of NIS 2 billion.

A joint press conference was held on Wednesday morning including the Prime Minister, Finance Minister Moshe Kahlon and Welfare Minister Chaim Katz.

Mr. Netanyahu stated, “We are now bringing a great message to the State of Israel and to the disabled population in Israel … This is a historic move that begins immediately, and we decided to move ahead of the second stage of the plan so that it will take place this year. The second step is the addition of another half a billion shekels, so that during the current year, the allowances will be increased by about NIS 2 billion, as part of the overall budget of NIS 4.2 billion, as we promised. “We are taking these steps to provide a quick response to as many needy people as possible.
