Yair Lapid is inciting against the background of the polls predicting success in the upcoming elections and following the Shabbos/Supermarket Bill currently under discussion in the Knesset: At a Yesh Atid faction meeting, Lapid gave a speech of incitement and intimidation, warning the secular that the chareidim are going to close the city on Shabbos.
Lapid began his speech by addressing the public: I want to say from here to the citizens of Israel. If you live in Modi’in, they are going to close the city on Shabbos. If you live in Eilat, they are going to close the city on Shabbos. If you live in Netanya, they are going to close the city on Shabbos. If you live in the Krayot, they are going to close the city on Shabbos. If you live in Ashkelon, Beersheva, Ariel, Holon, Bat Yam, they are going to close the city on Shabbos.
There will be no stores, and if you go for a walk on Shabbos there will be no Yellow or Alonit [convenience stores] at the gas stations. There will be a closed sign on your city, and that’s it. Not because you disturbed someone. Not because chareidi residents live next to you, and it bothers them. Not because someone complained. They’ll shut down the city for you to show they can. Because the chareidi parties want to show that they can tell secular and traditional people what to do and how to live. And Netanyahu, because of his investigations, is folding and giving in to everything. ”
He ended, “Why close stores in neighborhoods and cities that they do not even live in? To force just to do so? We will fight this law with all our might here in the Knesset, in the court, and in the streets and squares. It’s not a war over religion, it’s a war for freedom, and for the right to vote, and for no one to tell us how to live. ”

No Sir, the Torah is here to teach us how to live.
Lapid wins the Barack Obama award for Israel’s most arrogant politician.I can’t believe anyone takes him seriously.
This is why I am happy that the Israeli government is stable for now,and that the Israeli government is stable, is saying a lot, because the Israeli government rarely last anywhere close to the four years given it,and here it is close to three years still around.
Because I fear once there is new elections,we might have to face this Lapid in his full strength, that wants to wreck our sacred religion from top to bottom.
Remember these hateful words from Lapid, and one should never forget who we are dealing with when it comes to Lapid.
I pray to Hashem, that Lapid should do Teshuva, and realize the truth of our holy Torah, and that he should respect those that learn it.
And if Chas Vshalom, he does not,may Hashem save us from his evil plans.
Lapid is another politician trying to gain on the CharediPhobia (yes, it’s a new term) card.
of course!
why make laws that will not only be relevant for a few years.
make long term laws which will be relevant for the entire future.
very soon , people like lapid are going to be a small minority in israel whether they like it or not
YOSSI LAPIG; IS; WAS; AND CHAS VESHALOM WILL ALWAYS BE
