A Ramat Gan district police spokesman on Thursday, 10 Teves, released the following report during the morning hours.

At this time, large-scale searches are being carried out for a suspect in an attempt to grab a weapon from a security guard this morning at a kindergarten compound on Be’er Ora Street in Ramat Gan.

Apparently, at this stage of the investigation, the incident was criminal and not an act of terror.

The bodyguard, who is in his 60s, was evacuated to Tel Hashomer Hospital for treatment of a head injury. Before the attempt to grab his weapon, he was sprayed with some material, which is unknown at this stage.

During the attempted abduction of the weapons, the security guard fired into the air and the suspect fled the scene.
