Housing Minister Signs A Contract For Over 13,000 Housing Units In Netivot


With the signing of the agreement, Minister of Finance Moshe Kahlon gave the signal for the publication of the first tender for the marketing of 2,045 residential units, half of which will be offered as part of the “affordable housing” program for those entitled.

Minister of Finance Moshe Kahlon signed an agreement for the construction of 13,103 housing units in Netivot, with the participation of Housing Minister Avigdor Yitzchaki, Israel Lands Administration director Adiel Shimron and Netivot Mayor Yechiel Zohar.

The agreement establishes a population goal that is expected to increase the city’s population by 50,000 within a decade, thereby turning Netivot into a central district city in the northern Negev.

The signed agreement outlines the population development trends and development directions of the city in the coming decade with 13,103 apartments to be built in its western neighborhoods, with government investment, adjacent infrastructure, infrastructure, public institutions and the upgrading of old neighborhoods.

With the signing of the agreement, the Minister of Finance gave the signal for the publication of the first tender for the marketing of 2,045 housing units, half of which will be offered as part of the affordable housing plan to provide government subsidized housing to young couples whom have yet to purchase an apartment.

The construction will be carried out in five new neighborhoods: Ramot Yoram, in which 5,166 housing units will be built over 1,740 dunam. Maalot HaNachal, which will be populated with 3,288 new housing units over 2,195 dunams, N’vei Sharon A and B, in which 2,696 apartments will be built over 1,280 dunams, Netivot West B with 734 new housing units over 135 dunams. Ramot Meir will house 1,244 new apartments over 470 dunams, and the renewed Netiv HaMaale compound, in which 177 residential units will be built.
