It is difficult to understand how in the midst of a winter storm, Defense Minister Avigdor Lieberman can sign an order resulting in the immediate eviction of a family from its home while in the Arab sector of Yehuda and Shomron, illegal housing is rampant.

Illegal Arab construction continues, and in one recent example, the Civil Administration has been informed of illegal construction 400 meters from Yishuv Telem in the S. Hebron Hills area, but nothing is being done to halt it. Complaints have been filed during the past two months via official channels by various community officials in the S. Hebron Hills, yet the construction near Telem continues.

On the other hand, on Monday morning, 7 Teves, a cold rainy morning, agents of the Civil Administration arrived at Yishuv HaDaas and informed a family with children they must evacuate immediately, without any prior warning. The agents then destroyed the family log cabin home.

News 0404 reports that in the Defense Ministry, the deputy minister is affiliated with the Bayit Yehudi party, Rabbi Eli Ben-Dahan, yet such actions continue to occur. The family ousted in the latest eviction was living in the home and from one moment to the next, was informed it was homeless.
