Two Kassam Rockets struck two factories in the industrial area of the southern city of Sderot early Tuesday afternoon. Several people were treated for shock and vehicles near the scene sustained damage from the strike.
Retaliation by the IDF came shortly after.
At least six Hamas terrorists were eliminated when a missile struck their “police station” in the Southern Gaza Strip. There were reports of at least another six terrorists being injured in the strike – some critically.
Islam Shahwan, a spokesman for the “Hamas police”, told Haaretz that the strike hit the police station in the southern Gaza village of Abassan. He said the men were “performing afternoon prayers when the building was hit”.
The IDF confirmed the strike, and released the following statement: “The IDF carried out an aerial attack against a Hamas post in the southern Gaza Strip in response to the Kassam rockets launched this morning at Sderot. The IDF will continue to target terrorist organizations as long as they persist to fire rockets at Israel.”
Earlier Tuesday, IDF forces killed two terrorists near the town of Rafah in the southern Gaza Strip.
