The Jerusalem District Court on Tuesday sentenced a terrorist to life imprisonment plus 20 years for his role in the 2001 assassination of former tourism minister Rehavam Ze’evi.
Bassel Asmar, a member of the PFLP, was earlier convicted of the murder by the court in January. He was also convicted of membership in a terrorist organization and several counts of attempted murder for placing car bombs and explosive devices in Jerusalem in 2001.
Asmar and his accomplice Hamdi Quran murdered Ze’evi in the fall of 2001- in the Jerusalem Hyatt hotel. Hamdi was sentenced to life plus 100 years behind bars in December 2007 -as reported HERE on YWN.

He was a good person, R. Zeevi, honest and ethical, one of the last of those types in the Knesset.
