Minister of Public Security Gilad Erdan was on hand on Monday, 1 Rosh Chodesh Teves, to dedicate the new International Emergency Dispatch Center of United Hatzalah in Jerusalem.
The new center is capable of accommodating the organization’s needs, with thousands of volunteers operating nationwide, providing immediate response to medical emergencies. The dispatch center also operates units outside of Israel, including Ukraine and when United Hatzalah joins with Israelife to address disasters where they may occur around the world.
Erdan stated, “In the merit of the IDF, we are no longer battling over the borders of the nation, but the issue is the civilian homefront, where our enemies focus as well. As the challenges are more formidable, we require more of the volunteer spirit and United Hatzalah is a symbol of this spirit, volunteering and being dedicated to saving lives. There is no other place in the world where we find this level of professionalism and technical advancement. On Chanukah, when we remember the victory of the Maccabees and the Jewish spirit and United Hatzalah volunteers continue this very spirit in our days”.
United Hatzalah Executive Director Moshe Teitlebaum added, “We thank Minister Erdan for honoring us at this event as well as for his continued support for the activities of our volunteers. Minister Erdan initiated a real revolution and significantly improved the personal security of Israeli citizens.
“As part of his belief, he sees the network of volunteers to save lives as a significant factor contributing to the increased community and national security. The actions as an EMS organization subordinate to the Ministry of Public Security significantly strengthens out network of volunteers and help to expand its activities”.
