An estimated one hundred Arabs from the village of Burin in Shomron began a riot near the Gilad Road on Wednesday morning, 25 Kislev, the main road passing by the village. After burning tires on the outskirts of the village, dozens of rioters began to advance to the nearby Yitzhar Junction in order to attack Jewish vehicles on the main road. Security was called but dozens of Arabs threw stones, some using slingshots, before the IDF arrived. Soldiers used teargas and stun grenades to restore order.
The IDF spokesman released a report during the afternoon that about 40 Jewish “settlers” later entered Burin with their faces covered and began throwing rocks at Arab homes. The IDF arrived to break up the sides and removed the settlers from the village. There were no injuries reported.
Far-left organizations later criticized the IDF for appearing not to do enough to stop the Jewish stone throwers, as seen in the video below:
