Shin Bet agents accompanied by police and IDF troops during the night of 23 Kislev (Sunday night to Monday morning), visited the home of the lone terrorist who perpetrated the stabbing attack in front of the Jerusalem Central Bus station hours earlier. They arrived to question family members and to search the home.

Security officials learned that the terrorist posted his planned attack on social media 24 hours earlier. They also know the PA (Palestinian Authority) resident was inside “Israel proper” illegally.

Just before he stabbed security guard Asher Elmaliach, the latter suspected him and asked him to see his identity card. The terrorist removed his jacked and then pushed the knife into Elmaliach’s chest and fled the scene.

In the accompanying video, we see the terrorist apprehended. We then see Jerusalem Mayor Nir Barkat in the background as Jerusalem Police Chief Yoram Halevy debriefs police and civilians who were involved in apprehending the terrorist.
