Two young Israelis were killed on Thursday night in a car accident in the Philippines. the names of the victims have been released and are Afik Shachar and Raz Tzruia. The two were 27-years-old and work for an Israeli company that has a branch in the east-Asian nation. They were involved in a car accident with a truck and were pronounced dead at the scene of the accident.
The accident took place near Clark, which is approximately 50 miles north of Manilla.
Israel’s Foreign Ministry issued a statement that said that the Consul in the Philippines, Yafit Katzav, and the Israeli delegation in the country have been dealing with the situation since they were informed of the accident on Thursday. All efforts were being made to bring the bodies for burial in Israel as quickly as possible. The team in the Philippines has been working together with the Consul General in Istanbul, Yossi Levy-Safari. The bodies are expected to arrive in Israel on Sunday morning via Istanbul.
