With the continuation of work by Israel Railways on train lines across Israel on Shabbos, and in spite of the recent resignation of Health Minister Yaakov Litzman, it appears that Labor and Social Welfare Minister Chaim Katz has adopted a policy of continuing work on Shabbos and simply hiding it from the media as much as possible.

According to an investigative report done by Bhadrei Haredim, the new strategy to desecrate the Shabbos but keep a closed lid on the details of where and when that desecration is taking place seems to be the modus operandi of the partnership between Katz’s Ministry and Israel Railways. This is being done in an effort to prevent any future crisis in the government, according to the report.

When asked for comment Katz’s office said that they will not respond to accusations of work being done on Shabbos to the media. Israel Railways likewise attempted to avoid the question. Neither office refuted the claim that work was done in the desecration of the Shabbos again this past week, nor that anything would change in the future.
