A Jerusalem police district spokesperson reports a burglary ring that was operating in the district was apprehended ‘with the goods’ on the Jerusalem-Tel Aviv Highway in the direction of the capital. A vehicle with four occupants was stopped and one person tried to avoid arrest, but they were all taken into custody, but only after the one suspect used pepper spray against police.

In a focused operation by police detectives during the weekend against burglaries and thefts from homes and vehicles, the police noticed a vehicle with four suspects, who, according to the suspicions, acted as a squad and robbed a house in a community near Jerusalem.

The suspects two PA (Palestinian Authority) residents who were inside Israel proper illegally as well as two residents of the eastern capital. Police learned the suspects were indeed operating as a ring and a search of their apartments revealed a considerable amount of items believed to have been acquired in burglaries.

The suspects were arraigned and two of them remanded until December 7th while the other two, until Monday, December 4th (16 Kislev).
