The family of Avraham Mengistu, who has been in Hamas captivity since 2014, when he voluntarily crossed into Gaza, is calling on the United Nations for assistance in bringing him home. Avraham walked into Gaza on his home, with some saying that he is mentally unstable, accounting for his actions.

The Mengistu family calls on the UN and the international community, particularly rescue organizations, to find a solution that will bring Avraham back home to Israel. It is pointed out, that since entering Gaza, Hamas continues to refuse to provide any information as to his well-being.

Israel Ambassador to the UN Danny Danon took part in the family’s press conference and used the opportunity to point out the cruelness of Hamas, which refuses to provide an update on Avraham’s disposition or that of others being held in Gaza.
