A number of mortar shells fired from Syria landed in the N. Golan Heights on Tuesday morning, erev Yom Kippur.
Military officials confirmed the incident, which occurred at about 07:00, adding it appears the mortars were not intended for Israel, but more likely mortars fired between fighting factions in Syria that came over the border. The mortars landed in an open area. There were no reports of injuries or damage.
