(VIDEO IN EXTENDED ARTICLE)

During the main evening news on Wednesday night the eve of 27 Cheshvan, former Prime Minister Ehud Barak spoke with Channel 2 correspondent commentator Amnon Abramovich.

Barak explained, “In order to replace [PM Binyamin] Netanyahu, I will consider reconcile with former {IDF] Chief of Staff Gabi Ashkenazi; “I am the most mature and prepared to replace Netanyahu.”

The full interview is going to be broadcast on motzei Shabbos, but it is clear from Mr. Barak’s statements, at 75, he is ready to give it another go and reenter the political arena with the ambition of serving as prime minister once again.

Barak explains that while Mr. Netanyahu is seasoned and capable, he lacks the ability to make decisions, and therefore, he would be the better option. He adds that polls show him gaining on Netanyahu, but no one reaches 40% popularity and there are still too many undecided voters.

Barak added arrogantly: “I do not need reinforcements – I am immodest enough to note that in terms of record, experience, international familiarity, intimate familiarity with security problems, state of economics, etc. I am now more mature and able to lead the State of Israel than any of the candidates around”.
