Members of Israel’s Police Shai (Shomron-Yehuda) unit over this past weekend issued 648 summonses in areas throughout Yehuda and Shomron.

As part of a focused enforcement activity of traffic police and the integration of additional forces, with an emphasis on Route 60 and other roads in Yehuda and Shomron, 648 traffic reports were recorded last weekend.

As a result of traffic enforcement:

• 22 licenses were suspended
• 23 vehicles with safety deficiencies were taken off the road
• 16 vehicles were ordered off the road permanently
• 29 summonses were issued for using a cell phone without a hands-free device
