PM Delays Votes To Void Disengagement From Northern Shomron

Blaming the need to coordinate with the US administration, Prime Minister Binyamin Netanyahu on Sunday, 16 Cheshvan, once again delayed the vote on canceling the Disengagement Plan from the N. Shomron in the Knesset Law Committee. A number of Jewish communities were uprooted from that area as well as all of Gaza during the implementation of the Disengagement Plan in 2005.

While coalition chairman MK (Likud) David Bitan confirmed PM Netanyahu has approved the bill, he is postponing the vote amid an awareness the matter is one involving a complicated diplomatic situation which must be coordinated with the US administration. Hence, Mr. Netanyahu instructed Justice Minister Ayelet to postpone the vote scheduled in committee for Sunday.

At present, due to the expulsion from N. Shomron communities. Jews are prohibited to be in the areas of the former yishuvim; SaNur, Chomesh, Ganim and Kadim. Nevertheless, with much mesirus nefesh, talmidim of the Chomesh Yeshiva Gevoha return to the site of Chomesh daily, setting up shop and continuing their limud in the hope of one day rebuilding the community which

housed their beis medrash in the past.
