A 73-year-old woman was violently assaulted in Dimona on Sunday after she had extracted her pension funds from a nearby bank. Following the incident ent she was taken to Soroka Medical Center in Beer Sheva for emergency medical care.
The woman, who has been identified as Larissa Tenkelovitz, had her family with her at the hospital. Her granddaughter, Yivgenya Tiomentzav said: “My sister called me after she heard the screams and saw our grandmother lying on the floor. She was unresponsive. She went out this morning to withdraw cash and came back with terrible injuries. I immediately called for an ambulance and we took her to the hospital. Whoever attacked her is an animal, a monster, he is not human. I’ve heard many stories but never thought something like this would happen to us. What could he possibly think to himself, that it is okay to kill a person for 500 shekels? What my grandmother is going through is a nightmare.”
A friend of the family’s, Luba Loshkin, said that the Tenkelovitz’s situation was improving and was far better than it had been on Sunday when she was first brought to the hospital. “Ony time will tell what will be in the end, but she is getting better. Right now she isn’t talking or connecting with anyone. We found her without her money, debit card or Teudat Zehut, so we know that this was a robbery.”
The police have in custody a suspect by the name of Dennis Brodovsky. His arraignment has been extended until a full investigation can be completed. According to a police representative at the arraignment hearing, “This act of violence is irregular. The status of the injured person is critical and she is in danger of dying.” Police have been treating this case as one of armed robbery and attempted murder.
Brodovsky so far has been remaining silent during the investigation. His attorney claims that the police do not have evidence against him but rather “gut feelings.”

sometimes elderly people use their ‘gut’ reaction and refuse to leave go of their purses. The thief gets violent and the victim gets injured.
Best advice, unless you are a Karate/Judo trained hero, give them the wallet/purse and let them run away.
