El Al flight 007 from Ben-Gurion International Airport to New York City was compelled to turn around and head back to Tel Aviv on Tuesday, 11 Cheshvan, due to a bird strike.
The plane circled over the Mediterranean for about an hour, dumping fuel, and then made and uneventful landing back in Ben-Gurion.
Engineers were summoned to inspect the plane to determine if it was able to head on to its original destination or if another plane would have to be brought in.
