United Hatzalah and MDA units on Monday morning 3 Cheshvan responded to a drowning call in a mikve located on Even Haetzel Street in Jerusalem.
MDA reports the call arrived at 10:13 and EMTs and paramedics were dispatched to the reported drowning. The victim, a 47-year-old avreich, was R”L pronounced dead following failed CPR and advanced resuscitation at the Satmar mikve.

not to make light of this tragic death, but how can one drown in a mikvah? They are not deep and one only needs to stand up.
probably if a person suddenly suffers heart failure when under the water, no matter how deep, they cannot help themselves, and there are many more examples.
