Was it the incitement that followed the demonstrations of the Peleg faction that caused the serious attack? An avreich in Rishon L’Tzion was attacked this week for no reason at Shefa Deal on Rothschild Street in the center of the city. The incident was recorded on security cameras.
His father-in-law Yaakov Rob tells told Kikar Shabbos News about the shocking and severe incident: “My son-in-law stood by the store quietly and suddenly the same person attacks him for no reason – beat him and put him on the ground. He was badly beaten in the middle of the street for no reason.”
“I do not know if it’s because of religious hatred, or maybe it’s not normal, but what’s certain is that we’re dealing with a serious case,” says the father-in-law of the yeshiva student who was beaten.
He said he was injured and evacuated to the hospital. “We have a complaint with the police and we hope that they will catch the criminal and clarify his motives and put him on trial.”
Eyal Ben Zikri, chairman of the Bnei Torah Association of Rishon L’Tzion, said in response to the grave case: “The Bnei Zion Torah Association expresses shock at the violent and dangerous incident that the yeshiva student experienced in the city center yesterday and expects the law authorities to do their work in a speedy manner. “He said.
One of the activists in Rishon L’Tzion told Kikar Shabbos, “This is a terrible case, and I do not want to think that it’s because of the incitement against the chareidi community in the last few days, because of the demonstrations”.

First, the victinm of this attach should have a refuah shelamsah and the attacker hopefully arrested quickly and prosecuted.
Second, the father should get help if he is in denial and truly believes the Chareidim are the victims ” because of the incitement against the chareidi community in the last few days, because of the [Peleg] demonstrations”. The sllence frm much of the Chareidi tzibur and their leadership is deafening. In the minds of most Israelis, there is a growing feeling that all the Chareidim share responsibility for the disruptoin of their lives, rather than a few mindless zealots who claim to be following Rav Shmuel Auerbach’s shita on the IDF draft.
The great Rav Chaim Kanievfsy has just declared with a clarity that leaves no doubt that he considers this rabble rouser followers of Rabv Shmuel Auerbach to be destructive wild ignorant profaners of the Torah!
Gadolhadorah – Unfortunately, it is very clear to me two things. 1) You do not live in Israel. 2) You are being swayed by the media. Anybody Chareidi who lives here in Eretz HaKodesh is well aware that the Chareidi community by and large is against the actions of these bachurim. However, the secular media is not interested in reporting that because it reduces the suspense of the story which translates into less interest, less viewing, and less money. Bottom line, it doesn’t pay for them financially to be 100% honest in reporting (similar to foreign media’s reporting about the Israeli/Palestinian crisis).
As far as the Gedolim, it seems to me that our Gedolim prefer to concentrate behind closed door when dealing with the government. In such case public statements are counter productive. Of course, this is only my opinion. One thing is for sure though. Anyone of intelligence understands that the Gedolim are people full of knowledge and wisdom beyond ours. To judge them as if we are their equals is foolish.
So gadolhatorah, why aren’t most Israelis attacking the disabled who have been disrupting our lives with demonstrations for much longer ?

Exactly. Who CLAIM to be following. I don’t believe for a moment that Rav Shmuel is behind, or condones in any way, this sort of behavior.

First of all, Rav Chaim Kanievsky came out very stronly against the protests and protestors, and states as Godolhadorah states, that they are leaderless, clearly steering clear of blaming Rav Shmuel for having any part in this or them.
Secondly, any comment from Chareidi leadership would give credibility to the protestors and their actions be entering into a dialog of sorts. Choosing not even to ignore them is the best way.
gadolhaorah, as you state has been occurring. by their deafening silence, responding when a RY is attacked not when ambulances are delayed, the chareidi world should expect a backlash for their massive chillul hashem and offense against every principle of bein adom le’chaveiro.
Gadolhadorah, you are right on the money. It’s about time the Chareidi community takes responsibility for the consequences of their actions. Every action has a reaction and this poor young man was on the receiving end of it.
If they don’t stop this garbage, there will be more reprisals against Chareidim. Let’s be fair…. they do plenty of their own, throwing rocks at Shabbos violators or women who aren’t tzanua. What goes around comes around. Remember that.
The saddest part about all this is that all this labeling we are doing right now, right here, causes distancing of one Yid from his brother. Thus allowing Sinat Chinum in a way that allows us to wipe our hands clean by saying to ourselves, “he’s not one of mine”! But the truth is that we are all Jews and we are all guilty of Sinut Chinum.
So I ask all of us…. “do we really want Moshiach? Are we really waiting for that glorious day? Are we really preparing ourselves by striving toward Ahavas Yisrael?”
