Following the violent protests in Yerushalayim and Bnei Brak by the Peleg faction on Monday evening and night, more was promised for today, Tuesday, 27 Tishrei. The protests were sparked by the arrests of two Yeshiva Bochrim They were arrested for failing to register for the draft, in line with instructions from Hagaon HaRav Shmuel Auerbach.
The announcements on Tuesday explain that due to the continued incarceration of Meir Kaplinsky and Bentzion Weissenstern, in line with instructions from HaGaon HaRav Shmuel Auerbach Shlita, protests will resume today.
Protests began on Shivtei Yisrael Street and the corner of Sarei Yisrael/Yaffo Streets in Jerusalem at 3:30pm. Protests also were being held in Bnei Brak, at Jabotinsky and Hashomer Streets.
As tens of thousands of people were being inconvenienced by roads and streets blocked, dozens of Bochrim were being arrested by police.

what really bothers me is that I do NOT see any of the Gedolei Yisroel telling people that what they are doing is wrong and a chillul haShem.
True, the gedolim have told bochrim to report and register to get a draft differment, but I would think they would speak out.
Violent demonstrations????! The only violence J see in the video is that of the police!

You are correct and that is because more and more of the Gedolei Yisroel in this country want nothing to do with this army deferment process. They are not going to say that in public and undermine UTJ but moods in Eretz Yisroel are shifting. I live in Beit Shemesh for the last 4 years, when I first arrived I Peleg was a nothing in my mind but now I see they are gaining popularity.
Yes, there are issues perhaps with the methods they are using but amongst the Charedi Tzibbur they have also gained a respect for standing up to the attempts of the government to use the army (amongst other things) to turn Charedim into something else and get us out of Kollel.
The bochorim are mechuyiv to protest and allow themselves to go to jail, in line with their instructions from Gedolei Yisroel shlita.
What I don’t understand is how a street in Bnei Break, of all places, was named after that oifvorf Jabotinsky.
Why are yeshiva bochurim on the streets? They belong in the bais hamedrash learning. If they have the time to make a chilul Hashem in the streets, they have time for some form of civil service. There are ways of working around the draft situation if someone is truly intent on learning and remaining a yerai Shomayim. This isn’t it.

Poster #2: Blocking major thoroughfares at rush hour or at any time is itself violence. I cannot fathom how this is not outright gezel. There is no way that this is at the behest and direction of the Rosh Yeshiva. The thugs blocking the streets are fake Jews, unaware of the vast damage they are doing. I am sorry to use such pejoratives, but my rachmonis is with the masses stuck in the 4-5 km traffic jam. I have been so waylaid before and am aware of the sentiments down the road.

Just wondering why we dont see senior rabanim out protesting.
Its alot easier to send out the sheeple to demonstrate and convince them to get arrested if need be.
