More than thirty Kassam rockets landed in Eretz Yisroel on Friday, causing panic, and fear amongst the residents in the Southern communities. One of the rockets landed near a Sderot kindergarten, damaging a water pipe – but Boruch Hashem no injuries were reported. Today’s rocket salvo comes on the heels of yesterday’s terror – when more than 40 rockets rained down on Eretz Yisroel.
The IDF stepped up their response by carrying out multiple air-strikes.
The latest strike, on a Hamas headquarters building, left one person dead and at least dozens of people injured – the Jerusalem Post reported. The building, which was situated in a residential district of the Gaza Strip, sustained severe damage.
According to Haaretz, the four-storey building was flattened by the blast, and caused up to 20 casualties nearby.
Up until a few months ago, the building served as the Interior Ministry of the Gaza-based Hamas government, but has since been emptied. Hamas’ marine police headquarters building was also struck, causing no injuries
An IDF spokeswoman confirmed the strikes to the Jerusalem Post.
Just hours earlier, the IAF targeted a cell of rocket launchers, killing one and wounding three Hamas terrorists.

Just flatten the whole city already for cryin out loud
what exactly do they accomplish when they destroy an empty building and injure people that they get in trouble for injuring?
I really don’t understand the Olmert government. How can he agree to any peace agreement with Abbas, when Israel is bonbarded with Kassem rockets every day. No other government would stand for daily bombardments. On top of this, Condoleeza Rice and Abbas, along withe international community, condemn Israel for hitting back in Gaza at the Hamas terrorists. I agree with the comment by lovebp. Israel should hit them back HARD. Israel should not worry about the civilians there, since they are trying to kill every single Israeli CIVILIAN. Their actions every day show their intentions.
I just hope that Olmert, with his cohorts wake up already and see the handwriting on the wall.
I don’t get why Israel gives back the Gaza Strip and continues supplying them with water and electricity. The punishment when rockets fall is that we turn everything off. Why give it to them at all? Why can’t they get whatever they need from Egypt?
OK I’m getting sick & tired of saying wake up Olmert, its NOT happening! But I don’t understand why YWN would put up a false headline ” IAF strikes back”, In reality it just smoke and mirrors, there goes another empty building (one that even the Palistinian rats left, that building must be in bad shape anyways)
Last I checked the buildings are not the ones fireing the rockets.
