Bidding Begins At 200,000 Shekels For A Chair Used By Rav Ovadia

The chair which is said to carry segulos, a chair which was also used by Maran HaGaon HaRav Ovadia Yosef ZT”L in the Yazdim Shul, which was sold following his petira to a mispallel in the shul and has since been making the rounds to shuls in Israel.

Four years following Rav Ovadia’s petira, the chair is going on sale, albeit for a second time. The seat was used by Rav Ovadia during his weekly shiurim in the shul and bidding begins at 200,000 shekels for those interested. The shul was in need of money and sold the chair for 100,000 shekels and that money permitted refurbishing the shul.

During recent years, the chair belonged to two chareidi businessmen; with one being Itzik Citon from the center of Israel. Citon explains “Thousands have sat in the seat as it moved around the country during recent years”.

Citon explains that many attribute the chair having the koach to bring segulos.
