Tragedy struck Yerushalayim, when word spread of the petira on Sunday night of  28-year-old avreich Rav Chaim Yosef Klein Z”L. A malignant illness was detected just a few days before his petira.

Last Wednesday, he still maintained his routine on behalf of the kehilla in Shikun Satmar on Even HaEzel Street in Yerushalayim. He did not feel well towards evening and was hospitalized in Hadassah Ein Kerem Hospital. It was then that the illness was discovered. He was in serious condition and collapsed on Shabbos.

He was on 3 Menachem Av in 5749 to Rav David Klein who is affiliated with the Mehadrin Transportation Company that runs a line to Meron every Shabbos Mevorchim.

He was married to a daughter of HaRav HaChossid Rav Avraham Lefkowitz of the Skvere community. He is survived by his rebitzen and three children. The levaya was held on Monday.
