Israel Police Act Quickly Towards Return Of Smartphone

A swift and determined response by the Israel Police led to the return of the smartphone device shortly after its theft by a mother and her daughter.

The patrol officer was carrying out a patrol in the city of Sderot when information was passed on to police that detectives deployed throughout the city, leading to the arrest of a mother and daughter on suspicion of stealing a smartphone shortly before being questioned. When questioned by the detectives, the mother threw the device at the bushes. At the end of their interrogation, they were released.

Last Friday, as part of the deployment of many police forces across the city of Sderot, a shopkeeper approached a commercial center in the city and reported to the police that a cell phone had recently been stolen by two women in the store.

The policeman immediately passed on the description of the two to his colleagues on duty, and they began searching the city and within a short time these two were found walking together.

The police detectives discovered them when they were questioned. It turned out that the mother was 71 and her house was 50. During the conversation with the detectives, the mother threw the device at the bushes, believing that the detectives would not notice it. The two suspects were taken for interrogation at the nearby police station, during which they confessed to the suspicion. At the end of the interrogation they were released and the stolen device was returned to its owners.
