According to the Channel 2 News report, the father of the kallah was arrested, adding police arrived before the chupah took place. Police have alerted social services.
The minimum age for marrying without parental consent is 17. One may marry younger if one’s parents both consent.

I’m confused. Didn’t both parents consent here?
Surely there must be an absolute minimum age, even with parental consent?
a few points ; this ” news” is copied from an isreali website – these people are not regular chassidish or even mainstream breslov – laughing at dysfunctional people is not news and the only reason its news is because even among wackos this generally doesnt happen
” the father of the kallah was arrested”
“One may marry younger if one’s parents both consent”
I guess kallah’s mother did not consent.
In the majority of states in the United States marriage at this age is not prohibited.
The Torah does not prohibit marriage at this age.
These self-righteous kofrim think they are going to prove themselves by inventing a false morality.
Im laba’al lechu eilav, bums.
This is a real Age Gap Crisis…
if only she would be 2 years younger, he could have sold her as an Omoh Ivriyou
Presumably the father was arrested for the functional equivalent of child abuse or human trafficking…..a child of 14 years should not be marrying a man in his twenties

Why are you denigrating our Talmud with such words? It is our Talmud that denigrates those who marry off young girls (coerced by their elders) , such denigration by the Talmud even applying to such important institutions as yibum.
Present law in Israel states that the minimum age for marriage is 18. Court could allow marriage at 16 or older after social worker interviews couple. Under 16, marriage is prohibited.
Shoteh, where do you get the idea that marriage is forbidden to a 14-year-old girl? It is absolutely permitted–if it doesn’t contravene the local law. Since it does in Israel, it is forbidden.
Personally, I think that in these days 14-year-olds are too young to get married. In the times of Chazal they were much more mature. But today? What will they do? Play house?
Nebach so many frum yidden adopted the goyishe morality, of age of consent.
