Israel Police announces it stands ready for the opening of the 5778 school year. Hundreds of police officers, border police and volunteers of the Israel Police will participate in the deployment, in cooperation with the security guards of the educational institutions and the authorities, in order to maintain security, public order, regulation and direction of traffic.

Prior to the start of the school year and during the past few weeks, the police conducted and carried out operational activity to locate illegal residents, alongside focused enforcement near the educational institutions.

In addition, the police conduct community information efforts, prevention and training activities for the public, with the emphasis on giving priority to pedestrians, alongside enforcement against the proper functioning of transportation vehicles and transporting students according to the law.

During this day and in the first days of the school year, policemen will be deployed in the early morning hours, there will be open and concealed motorized and foot patrols to monitor vehicles and suspicious persons.

The security system in the outer circles will be augmented by central roads leading to educational institutions and transportation stops, and will assist security guards stationed at the entrance to schools. The police are asking the accompanying parents to act with extreme care and to ensure that passengers are stopped and removed safely, using appropriate safety devices and granting the pedestrians a right of way on their way to the educational institutions. The police appeal to the public to obey the police’s instructions, report any suspicious object / person and contact the police if necessary.
