Expanded Session Of 3 Moetzas Gedolei Torah Will Not Be Meeting This Week

The secretary of the Degel Hatorah Moetzas Gedolei Torah, Rabbi Avraham Rubinstein, explained in a radio interview with Kol Berama’s Noam Zeigman that the three Torah Councils will not convene in a combined session this week, adding “I hope they will meet in the future”.

Rabbi Rubinstein on Monday, 6 Elul did not provide details other than to say, “because of technical reasons”, but persons involved in the effort explain it is because of the weakened state of HaGaon HaRav Aharon Yehuda Leib Shteinman Shlita.

Rubinstein acknowledged that chareidi faction heads in Knesset have turned to him, expressing the urgency of such a meeting due to the ongoing and expanded Chilul Shabbos taking place by Israel Railways.

Rubinstein added that based on the information he has received, the Moetzas Gedolei Torah of Agudas Yisrael will not be convening alone this week, basing this on a conversation with Rabbi Stern, the secretary of that council, adding the two speak twice daily.
