Police Hope To Sign A Deal With A State Witness Against Aryeh Deri

Police are signaling a major break in the ongoing investigation against Shas party Chairman Aryeh Deri. While police are not revealing just what this break may be, persons close to the case are not willing to confirm or deny rumors that police are on the verge of signing a deal with a state witness against Deri, who is suspected of tax fraud and money laundering.

Deri has been questioned on four different occasions in the case. His wife and a brother have also been questioned along with others in the case, which may for a second time unseat the cabinet minister, who may have to face a criminal indictment.

  1. This to me looks like a real witch hunt. I guess if the police will hire an additional 200 private detectives and they subpoena every single bank record from every financial institution and maybe they are going through his trash to try to uncover top secret information. This is such a waste of money to use taxpayer dollars to aggressively continue with this witch hunt .

  2. If the authorities investigated random Israeli citizens for whatever, the same way they’re pursuing Aryeh Deri, maybe a third of Israeli’s adult population could be put on trial for this or for that infraction. It is indeed very sad to see how many people want to remove Aryeh Deri from the public sphere of influence. And how many others, some not even in Israel, would be pleased to see him cv”s brought down.
