What was once called the College of Judea and Samaria in Ariel in Shomron has finally been granted full university status by Israel’s Board of Higher Education. After years of foot dragging and promises, the board on Tuesday evening voted 11-2 in favor of granting full university status, permitting it to become Israel’s eight full university.

Final approval for the change in status must be granted by the IDF’s Central District Commander but this is viewed more as formality than an additional hurdle.
