Israel Police has unveiled its latest member of operational equipment, its sixth generations water cannon/riot control vehicle. The vehicle was officially unveiled in a ceremony on Wednesday, 10 Av, in Beit Alfa in the presence of high-ranking officials.

The vehicle is a method used to disperse demonstrations that are accepted throughout the world in the form of operational and protected vehicles that splash liquid through a “special hose” in order to assist police forces in dispersing demonstrations or violent disturbances, in accordance with the lessons learned from previous loss events. In the meantime, new developments were carried out in accordance with the operational needs and a number of new technological means were installed, including:

🔸 Front grill, which is operated on an electric basis to protect the windshield wiper and its operators from damage (unlike previous manual mechanism).

🔸 A special crank and arm are designed to pull and remove heavy objects blocking the road during disturbances in an attempt to disrupt traffic and prevent police activity.

🔸 A new laser marker has been installed on the main fluid cannon designed to improve the direction of the operators.

🔸 An additional device that is improved with the main cannon is the identification camera installed on it, and will assist the operators of the CID to identify rioters from a distance of 100 meters.

🔸 It is important to note that the new CSC can also help in special cases to extinguish fires and local fires.

In addition, the vehicle provides a shield for advancing forces as seen in the video as well has being capable of extinguishing itself if it goes on fire from a firebomb or the like.

The new model was developed at the Beit Alpha factory, which won the police tender, in order to improve its operational capabilities, with emphasis on technological innovation. Today, the police recorded the first CDM, out of five that were already purchased by the police. Until the end of the first quarter of 2018.

The first plan will be integrated into operational activity in the northern district within the next few days, as part of the police system deployed throughout the police districts and currently consists of 14 tools, with the aim of providing a specific and effective response to disturbances, while minimizing disturbance.
